Below you will find links to over 40 different ear training scales tests.

Each of these tests contains 10 questions and at the end of each aural test you will be given a mark and a percentage. Feel free to repeat each of the tests as many times as you wish.

In this advanced section, you will be tested on eleven different scales - major scale, natural minor scale, major & minor pentatonic scales, harmonic and melodic minor scales, blues scale, chromatic, wholetone, whole/half diminished and half/whole diminished.
The questions are selected at random and can be in any key.

The remaining scales are what we call symmetrical scales because all of the interval steps move in symmetry.

The chromatic scale simply moves up and down in semitone steps. The wholetone scale moves up and down in 'whole' tone steps (2 semitones).

The 2 diminished scales alternate between 1 and 2 semitone steps. The whole/half diminished moves as follows - tone, semi, tone, semi, tone, semi, tone, semi. The half/whole diminished moves as follows - semi, tone, semi, tone, semi, tone, semi, tone. The diminshed scales have a 'random' feel about them.
