Below you will find 10 different ear training rhythm transcription tests.

In this beginner section, each of these aural tests is a 2 bar rhythm getting gradually harder as you progress through. You can take each of the tests as many times as you wish.

There is a metronome through each of the rhythms and at the start of each rhythm you will get one bar of clicks for nothing. This will help you to decide what the Time Signature is for that particular rhythm.

Rhythm HINT Beginner These are 2 bars long and can include notes (whole, half, quarter and eighth notes), rests and dotted notes. Intermediate These are 3 bars long and can include all of the above plus triplets, sixteenth notes and ties. Advanced These are 4 bars long and can included all of the above plus compound Time Signatures.
